The Real Iowa Caucus Results 2020
The Iowa
caucus results show that the nation is apathetic about its choices for
president this coming November. The 176,587 voters who caucused for the Democrats
were 28.7% of the registered party members, about normal for a primary. The
Republican caucuses generated a turnout of just over 5%, also normal for an
effectively unopposed contest.
Total
turnout for both parties was a paltry 10.3% of the electorate. It is safe to
say that the nation is looking at a repeat of the 2016 contest, a choice
between two major party contestants that nobody likes very much.
